Looking for advice: Camping in Kamloops
« on: May 02, 2013, 03:45:09 PM »

Hey all,

I was hoping someone might be able to point me to a nice lake with no-pay camping, no showers, no running water, etc. Real camping. The only thing I'm interested in is excellent fishing and preferably good shore access as I'm not bringing a belly boat or anything to get me on the water. Hiking a few km is not an issue. I'm hoping to drive up around Kamloops as I've had incredible spring fishing up there over the years. I have a 4x4 and willing to go off the beaten path..

PM or reply if you want to keep it private. I'll share information in exchange if required.

Cheers,

Jon

There's a bunch of lakes and camping around this area. Makes for good hikes to open meadow lakes for fly casting. The trail to Willowgrouse and beyond is a cool lake like that before you get to Molinmar lake. We made Windy lake campground our base and explored the other lakes in the area. Really enjoyed it and will go back sometime. Skoatl butte is really great to to the top of too.
