Tofino, May 17th - 20th 2013
« on: May 22, 2013, 04:23:55 PM »

We had an excellent trip fishing in Tofino with Jeff Hale from Braedy Mack Fishing Charters last weekend. The sea was a bit rough, but the fishing made up for it. :) Here are some photographs. The rest can be seen at:

We also did some fishing in uclulete last weekend with one of the charters. As Rodney stated, the sea was a bit rough, the fishing was excellent. We limited out on both halibut and salmon.

I noticed from one of the pics that the salmon is adipose fin clipped. All our salmon but one are also clipped.

Were these fish headed to the US Columbia river?

Most likely, as we don't clip most of our chinook salmon.

It was definitely a great trip, quite different to the fishing trips which I typically take part in. This type of trips is kind of pampering. You stay at a nice resort, show up at the boat, everything is ready for you, the guide make sure you are fishing where the fish are, no need to deal with the fish afterward... I'm starting to get used to this. ;D

There is a huge run of Columbia fish this year.

I had a charter arranged for Tahsis in early August but an side-lining injury to the guide has now ruled that out.

Always take your Gravol in the morning!

I took one before I went to bed, and another one when I woke up... I blame wobbly legs on fixing my eyes on the camera too much when filming others bringing in their fish. ;D
