For Trade: Old Bottles from River
« on: July 15, 2021, 10:35:50 AM »

Been finding old bottles in my local river over the last few years. From my research, it seems the old Seagram's factory backed out onto (or near) the river from 1920 - 1970 or so. Most of what I've found have been fragments but I've come across some interesting whole bottles over the years too. Anyways, moving house later this month and want to clear out most of my "river treasure". I know their value is minimal but I'm hoping that somebody here will give these a good home and appreciate them. Would trade for a 650mL beer or 2-3 used 3/8 oz croc spoons. Really just want to find them a home because they're cool and I'd hate to throw them in the recycling.

I think the bottles are all in the 1960 - 1970 age range, based on pictures online and the "Federal law forbids sale or re-use of this bottle" message on the Seagram's. The HBC one has the crest embossed on the bottle and looks awesome. They stopped selling HBC brand liquor in 1967.

First photo, from left to right: Seagram's 1 quart, Seagram's 83 brand whisky, Seagram's 1 pint whisky (flask-shaped bottom, damaged lip), Hudson's Bay Brand liquor, Seagram's 1/2 pint (flask-shaped bottom). None of these have been cleaned.

Second photo: 7-Up (damaged lip), Coca-Cola, Seagram's 1/2 pint (rectangular bottom, damaged lip), Pepsi. The 7-Up and Coke were cleaned, the other two are still in "river" condition ;)

I will ask my brother in law. He used to dive a few spots from his gillnetter...
