there are lots of spots to fish along the coast of West Van
anywhere from under the Lions Gate bride to Light House Park
find a beach with access and give it a go at low tide 8)
first light and early morning are best
small lead, 6' leader and home made spinners
slow retreive ;)

Actually, Lighthouse park is no fishing now.
Caught twomore this morning - same time same place. Although, I think one of them was a spring. It had a black mouth, and lots of spots on the tail. Didn't register until I filleted it at home, and noticed the meat was a pailer color. I have sent 4 pictures to Master Rodney to post. The fish I think is the spring is the one of the top of the cutting board. (sorry, no head).

Not trying to be a jerk but you really need to know your species if your fishing for salmon. Chinooks need to be over 66(maybe 63)cm thats about 6lbs. Wouldnt wanna get caught with an undersized spring

I agree.
Pick-up a tidal regs. and look at the pics. and keep it with you until your sure of what you are catching and specially if your keeping them.
Sometimes they are hard to tell the difference. ;)
