I don't think the ROC gives a dam about open net salmon farming in BC and won't even blink if they all disappear.

your probably right

It surprises me Chris that you are not angry about the feds giving salmon farmers “another 5 years “.
“The press conference in Vancouver came immediately after the federal government announced it will ban open-net-pen salmon farming in five years after extending current licences to allow for companies to transition to land-based or closed-containment operations. The government had promised to phase out the farms by 2025.”

Interesting info in some of the news releases.

The lifespan of a farmed Atlantic is three years.
The nets have to be empty in five years.

Will that effectively cause the nets to be emptied after the current cycle (0 to 3 years)?
Any value in a pre-mature salmon?

Watershed Watch is pushing to have the nets emptied after the current cycle - probably going to happen anyways.

Captain Kirk, well both of them actually (Bill Shatner and Kirk McClean) speak out about open net salmon farms on the 5 year extension:

Where I first saw the video but couldn't find a link for just the video - Reddit.

14 bands with agreements with the fish companies - 120 bands against salmon farming.

Who do the 120 bands have agreements with Easy? Oil and gas, pipelines, forestry and lumber, tourism and gambling, sport fishing? Whatever is happening in their particular territories? Please feel free to let me know. Taking a guess that it is far from raising salmon on land but more than happy to take the anti salmon farm funding.

I would think the “anti’s” will be very happy with this decision. For them it will be 5 more years of anti salmon farm propaganda “Funding”.

I don't think anything can be fixed by inserting the word "supposably".

I believe without inserting the word Supposably is how fiction becomes fact.

I think he was referring to the spelling of "supposedly".

"Supposably" is still a word but rarely used and doesn't have the same meaning as "supposedly".

Thank you Easywater. I stand corrected. Spelling has never been my strong suite.
