Ross Lake is no more

America stole Ross Lake

The north shore of the lake is now approximately 0.6 km inside the US boundary and the Canadian boat launch is high and dry by about 3 m.

From what I read on American websites they are saying due to a low snowpack they will not fill the Ross lake reservoir this summer. The Hozomeen campground on the US side will remain closed. Very disappointed as this was the first year since the 2021 floods wiped the road out we are able to access Ross lake. I like to camp there and fish the lake from a boat.  :'(

Well, the Americans gave us Ross Lake in the first place, so it was theirs to take back😀

Normally Ross Lake hits full pool at 1602 ft in early July. Currently it's at 1582 but climbing, however highly unlikely there is still enough snow in the watershed to raise the entire reservoir another 20 vertical feet.

In 2023, there was no Ross Lake in Canada either as the highest elevation it reached was just shy of 1584

It hit full pool for many years in a row, 2022 and prior. The anomaly being 2019 when it only reached 1566
