Biological Technician Job Opportunity

Mainstream Biological Consulting Inc. has a full-time (30 hours
/ week) position available for a Biological Technician. The duties
of this position include:
Assisting the Biologist or Crew Leader in the field during
freshwater fish and fish habitat assessments, marine assessments
and other environmental impact assessments
Helping maintain gear and assisting with day-to-day office
activities
Preparing for field assessments (existing data review, equipment
preparation)
Handling and presenting data
May assist with report preparation (depending in experience
and training)
The applicant for this position should possess:
A valid Class 5 drivers license
Post-secondary instruction in biology, ecology, environmental
studies
Electroshocking certification
First Aid certification
High level of physical fitness, able to work in all terrain
types, often in poor weather conditions
The applicant must have been registered as a full-time student
(18 30 years old) during the past year and intend to return
to school in September 2006. This position will run from June 12
(or sooner) until September 1, 2006. Rate of pay will be determined
based on relevant experience and training. This job is based out
of Campbell River, BC and may require camp stays.
