in tidal waters requires a fishing licence but is FREE for those
under 16 years of age.
Two: You can visit one of our popular FREE to attend community
fishing events and learn how-to-fish from expert volunteers.

So dust off your rods and reels, round up the kids, and enjoy some

"My dad taught me how to fish when I was just five years
old and I have been hooked ever since," says Christopher Bos,
BC's Family Fishing Weekend Provincial Coordinator. "I urge
everyone to give angling a try during this year's Family Fishing
Weekend. Not only is it a chance to spend some time having fun with
your family and friends, but British Columbia offers some of the
finest angling opportunities in the world."
Go Fish! During BC's Family Fishing Weekend, June 16-17-18, residents
of British Columbia are encouraged to try the fun and skilful sport
of fishing in most of the province's tens of thousands of lakes
and non-tidal streams, with a three-day licence compliments of the
provincial government. Fisheries and Oceans Canada also invites
you to try your hand at tidal water sport fishing using a purchased
tidal waters sport fishing licence, which is FREE to those under
16 years of age.
