Wally Hall Junior Memorial Fishing Derby

Fred's Custom Tackle is once again hosting the Wally Hall Junior Memorial Fishing Derby. This annual steelhead fishing derby takes place in the Chilliwack/Vedder River system and all proceeds raised will be donated to the Fraser Valley Watershed Coalition, which is actively restoring spawning habitat in this river system.
The derby starts on December 1st 2015 and ends on March 15th 2016. Entry fee is $20 and must be paid 24 hours in advance. All freshwater fishing regulations apply to the derby and specific rules of the derby are available at the store. To register, simply visit either the Chilliwack or Abbotsford store.
An award banquet will be hosted in early April. The top three prizes are:
- First place (heaviest fish): $1,000 cash
- Second place: John Milner Vedder centerpin reel
- Third place: Drift rod and reel
In addition, there are six hidden weight $100 prizes. Cash prizes are also available for the first steelhead of the season.
