Wally Hall Junior Memorial Fishing Derby

Wally Hall Junior Memorial Fishing Derby is back again in Chilliwack starting on December 1st! This annual seasonal steelhead derby takes place on the Chilliwack/Vedder River and proceeds collected from derby entries are used to restoring fish habitat for this watershed.
Chilliwack/Vedder River's winter steelhead fishery takes place between December and April. This derby targets hatchery marked steelhead only. Derby tickets are $20 each, which can be purchased at Fred's Custom Tackle (both Abbotsford and Chilliwack locations).
To weigh in your fish, simply bring it to Fred's Custom Tackle's Chilliwack location (45150 Luckakuck Way Chilliwack). Participant who brings in the first fish of the season will win $50. The derby ends on March 15th, and awards will be given for the top three fish, which will happen on March 26th at the Royal Canadian Legion (5661 Vedder Road Chilliwack).
Proceeds generated from the derby will be donated to Fraser Valley Watersheds Coalition, which further raises funds from various government agencies so habitat restoration projects can take place on the Chilliwack/Vedder River watershed.
