Live Well

A live well is a water compartment on a boat where fish can be kept alive. This is commonly used in bass fishing tourmanents where captured bass are kept alive prior to being weighed and released.

In British Columbia, it is illegal to use a live well in freshwater fishing. All fish must either be released or killed immediately if you decide to keep them. This is implemented to prevent high grading and transportation of invasive species.
