For decades, Tunkwa Lake Resort has been a popular fishing holiday destination for families across British Columbia. The lake offers fantastic fly fishing in spring and summer, and ice fishing in the winter. Its rainbow trout, stocked annually by the Freshwater Fisheries Society of BC, can grow up to 10lb! Due to the abundance and size of its trout, Tunkwa Lake was the host of the World Fly Fishing Championships in 1993.

Tunkwa Lake Resort is only 3.5 hours drive from Vancouver, BC. It offers a variety of accommodation, including RV camping, rustic cabins to luxurious log homes. Boat rentals are available at the lake for anglers who only wish to bring their fishing gear. Activities for non-fishing guests include hiking, biking, wildlife viewing and a large playground for the children.
