Strike Indicator

A strike indicator is a small float used in fly fishing. The float is threaded and fixed onto the leader. It is used when nymphing in a stream or chironomid fishing in a lake. The strike indicator serves two purposes, one is to provide better depth control while acting as a bite indicator. It is an effective tool for catching trout on a fly in both lakes and streams, but many fly fishing purists do not consider it as true fly fishing.
