Volunteer Opportunities at Seymour Salmon Hatchery

There are some volunteer activities coming up at the Seymour Salmon Hatchery in May.
- May 02: Individual sample coho smolts. 9am at hatchery.
- May 03: Individual sample steelhead smolts. 9am at hatchery.
- May 08: Second steelhead smolt release. 9am at the hatchery.
- May 10: Individual sample steelhead smolts. 9am at the hatchery.
- May 15: Last steelhead smolt release. 9am at the hatchery.
The Seymour Salmon Hatchery is located at the northern part of the Seymour Conservative Reserve in North Vancouver. The hatchery produces pacific salmon as well as some steelhead for the Seymour River.
If you are interested, please contact volunteer coordinator James Weger by email in advance. You need to make arrangement with the hatchery prior to your arrival because visitors are normally not allowed to drive up to the hatchery.
