Old Fishing Equipment Wanted!
Posted on May 8th, 2007 by Rodney Hsu, webmaster
Last weekend, we received an email from Lisa Vandermeer with the following request regarding the upcoming "Relay for Cancer" event.
Dear Fishing with Rod,
My name is Lisa Vandermeer and I am emailing you to see if you are able to help. My brother-in-law is an avid fisherman and also has recently been diagnosed with brain cancer. We have put together a big group of friends and we are all participating in the 12 hour "Relay for Cancer" which takes place at McLeod Park In Langley B.C. on May 25, 2007. Our team is called "Fisherman's Friends". This run goes all night long and it is our desire to not just raise as much funds as possible, but to also show my brother-in-law how much we love him and want to help him through this time. We have had tee shirts made up with his picture (holding "The Big One" of course!), but we would also like to decorate our section of the track (at the park) with fisherman paraphernalia.
This is where I am hoping you can help. Is it possible to post an add letting fisherman know that we are looking for fishing gear that is no longer usable, except for possible decoration IE: Nets with holes, old lures etc, etc. We would certainly appreciate it if you can help with this, or if you might have an idea of where we might find these kinds of items at a resonable cost. Regardless or weather or not you are able to help, I thank you for your time!
Sincerely,
Lisa Vandermeer
If you can help, please email Lisa at lisavandermeer@telus.net.
