North Vancouver – Learn how to fish and take a tour at your local watershed at the Go Fish Rice Lake and Watershed Tours Kick-off event, on Sunday June 15, 2008 from 10:00am to 3:00pm in the Lower Seymour Conservation Reserve. Activities include free fishing, fishing tips, BBQ, displays from local organizations, watershed tours, and prize give-aways.
Sponsored by the Seymour Salmonid Society, Metro Vancouver, and the Family Fishing Society of BC.

The Seymour Salmonid Society is a non-profit organization that has operated the Seymour River Hatchery for over 20 years.
The goal of Go Fish Rice Lake is to introduce everyone, young and old, to the joys of fishing as well as increase public respect for our aquatic resources. Activities at the event include:
- Fishing tips and demonstrations
- Loaner rods and reels
- Information on fish, their habitat, and proper fish handling
- Fly tying for the kids
- Displays from local organizations
- Outdoor BBQ
- Prize giveaways
Go Fish Rice Lake is part of BC’s Family Fishing Weekend running June 13-15, 2008. During Family Fishing Weekend free freshwater fishing licenses are provided compliments of the province of British Columbia for fishing in most lakes, non-tidal rivers and streams.
