The Seymour Salmon Hatchery in North Vancouver is looking for a couple of people to help out with the placement of fertilizer in the Seymour River in the first part of next week. This is done by BCCF in an effort to improve primary productivity in the river and hence to promote fish growth by there being more food available.
The work will involve lifting and carrying 10kg bags of fertilizer and placing them in the river. This will happen on either Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday. Please let the hatchery know by email or phone 604-288-0511 what days you could help out if interested. It will probably take around 3 hours. More details will be sent to you once you contact them.
