Region One Lake Fishing Locations
Vancouver Island & Gulf Islands
Region one has both urban and remote lakes where fishing for trout and bass are available. In Victoria and Nanaimo, several urban lakes are in the "Fishing in the City" program where rainbow trout are released regularly. Smallmouth bass fishing in many island lakes is unknown to most anglers in British Columbia, fish up to 6lb are not unheard of to those who regularly take part in this fishery. In more remote lakes, larger rainbow trout and coastal cutthroat trout are often caught in spring and fall.
